About the Project
The phenomenon of calltaxi services is well known in all European, U.S. and South East Asian countries. The promoters have brought this phenomenon in India that too in Chennai. There are 36 New Maruthi Omnis plying in Chennai from Novermber 10th 2000. further it was increased to 110 was by July and 145 by November 2001. All these vehicles are fitted with Motorola Wireless Radios which in turn connected with a control room. Whenever a passenger needs a car, he will dial the control room telephone No. 8142233, the operators in the control room will contact the nearest cab and instruct to pick the passenger from his door step.
As such the service in Chennai it started with a enormous response. On the 1st day itself it was able to serve around one hundred customers. Now after one-year time without regular advertisement it receives around 1000 calls a day. The existing 145 omnis are insufficient to cater the service all the customers. It could meet only 800 customers a day.
Unless otherwise there is increase in the fleet, it may not be able to give best service to the customers. So the project has to be expanded immediately to meet out the demand, or else it will create a negative impact on the company.
Market FeasibilityWithout any advertisement campaign, the company still receives around 1000 calls a day. On an average a single vehicle can accommodate only 9 to 10 calls a day with this 145 vehicles, only 800 to 840 calls could be accommodated. But the regular calls received are increasing day by day. So, the company has to increase the number of vehicles immediately.
