The Current Tamil Nadu Cases is completing 8 glorious years of its existence. The patronage extended by the judicial and legal fraternity is overwhelming. CTC commenced its publication on the 14th of April 1995 with the blessings and good wishes of the legal fraternity and the foreword given by no less a Legal Luminary than Mr. Justice M. Srinivasan.
As a Matter of fact CTC was conceived to bridge the generation gap in law reporting in the State of Tamil Nadu. It is often said that infusion of new blood and entry of new comers in any avocation or occupation increases the level of efficiency and productivity. In the Computer age in which we are living it was felt that a law Journal which could report cases promptly and punctually is an absolute necessity. It is to cater to this necessity CTC was started.
The Editorial Board of CTC consists of dedicated members who are alive to the need of the legal fraternity. Cases are selected for reporting based on merit and utility and judgments covering the entire spectrum of law gets reported in the journal. CTC is one of the very few law reports in the country which reports both civil and criminal cases apart from cases covering various other branches of law. The selection of judgments, the pleasant printing, page making, neat execution and quality headnotes are the distinct features of CTC. Within a short span of 8 years it has become a leading Law Journal in the State of Tamil Nadu. CTC has the unique distinction of becoming a popular law report within a very short span of time. It has won laurels and accolades from the judicial and legal fraternity alike.
CTC started with the publication of 2 volumes per year in 1995. The publication was increased to 3 volumes in 1997. 2000 saw four volumes of the Journal and the number of judgments reported also increased considerably. CTC published approximately 3200 pages of Law Reports in the Calender Year 2000. All these things were done for a comparatively economical and competitive subscription, since service to legal community is the primary consideration. Every year the Editorial Committee explores the possibility of improving the quality of journal and increasing the Coverage. The exclusive journal section consists of Articles of importance to the legal practitioners and the important speeches of eminent Judges and the Jurists.
It is often said that success is never ending journey where the ultimate aim is service to society and humanity. CTC firmly believes that service is above all. This introspection is occasioned by the completion of 8 years of service and an opportunity to spell out the aims and objects of CTC and the purpose of its existence.
CTC expresses its sincere thanks to the Hon’ble Judges and the legal practitioners who had extended their unfailing co-operation and patronage without which CTC would not have successfully covered its path to excellence.
