I was born on 28th February 1919 in Bombay. I passed my BA Examination in the year 1940 and LLB, in the year 1943. Thereafter, i signed articles with Messrs Mulla and Mulla, solicitors as they then were in 1943.
After i signed my articles, I completed 3 years articleship with M/S Mulla and Mulla. I however, did not appear for solicitors examination for about two years, and thereafter, i passed my solicitors examination for about two years, and thereafter, I passed my solicitors examination in December, 1949.
Thereafter, I joined as solicitor assistant with the firm of Messrs Craigie Blunt and Caroe, Solicitors, and thereafter I joined the firm of Messrs pereira Fazalbhoy and Co., solicitors as solicitor assistant, in the year 1950. I was an assistant solicitor with Messrs. Pereira Fazalbhoy and Co., upto the year 1956.
Thereafter, in the year 1956, I joined the firm of Messrs. Crawford Bayley and Co., solicitors, are an assistant solicitor from 1956 upto 1959.
In April 1959, I was offered partnerhsip by late Shri Mohammed Hussein Abdulla Fazalbhoy, solicitor who was at that time practicising in the firm name and style of Messrs M.H.A. Fazalbhoy and Co., solicitors, as the sole proprietor thereof.
From 1st April 1959, I joined Mr. Fazalbhoy, as a partner, and the firm now is known as Messsrs. Fazalbhoy Motafram and Co., Since 1st April 1959.
Mr. M.H.A Fazalbhoy died in the year 1965, and thereafter, I carried on the firm of Messrs Fazalbhoy Motafram and Co., as the sole proprietor thereof.
In the year 1980, I took one Shri Jayantilal Kalyandas Mistry, as my Junior partner. But, the firm name has been continued in the name of Messrs. Fazalbhoy Motafram and Co., wherein i am the senior partner.
Today, my practice as a solicitor is about 52 years during which period i have been dealing with various types of legal work including high court and city, civil court, Bombay, Suits matters, Conveyances, Testamentary, parsi matrimonial matters and some trade marks matter. I have been specialising in suit work, and testametry matters and coveyancing. I was also doing the legal work of Burmah Shell Oil storage and Distributing Co., now known as Bharat Petroleum, Bombay, for many years. My firm was also a retainer in respect of "All India Radio Merchants Association"
I am also a trustee in
Jamshedji Nowroji Mody Trust, and
Jivanji Jamasji Mistry's Surat Adarian Fund, wherein i am the senior most trustee. Both these trusts are public charitable trusts, and both these trusts are cosmopolitan - trusts.
I am also a senior member of The Lions Club of Bombay(host)
