(SETO), incorporated in 1971 and entered in its 31st. year of operation has been active in the field of Control & Instrumentation for a wide variety of utilities and industries including Thermal & Hydro Power utilities, Nuclear Power Plants, Fertilisers, Chemicals & Petrochemicals, Metallurgical and Research institutions. The company has kept pace with the advancement in Microprocessors and embedded control systems, has designed and commissioned the largest Distribution SCADA system in India using microprocessors and Realtime operating system (QNX).
SETO manufactures Powerline Transducers, Custom Designed Microprocessor & Microcontroller Systems and SCADA Systems. Currently, we are executing a major order for Turnkey Supply of SCADA and Microwave Communication To M/s BEST, Mumbai for their South Zone Electrical Distribution Network, an Order worth 4.0mUS.
The company has a very good testing and calibrating facility, CAD for circuit development and engineering and is highly quality conscious. The company has been competing with multinationals like Siemens, Asea Brown Boveri, GE-Harris- Nelco, and etc. in the field of SCADA systems and transducers in India and is recognised as one of the technology leaders in transducers by the electric utilities. SETO has over twenty thousand transducers installed in the last ten years.
SETO has the capability to Design, Engineer and Supply specialised equipments and embedded control units in the field of Instrumentation, Control, Communication & Computers / Microprocessors.
SETO is currently executing an order, won against competition from Multinationals and Large Public sector units, worth over Rs 11.50 crs, (4 MUSD) for SCADA and Communication system from M/s.BEST, Bombay for their South Zone Electric Distribution System. The SCADA system would monitor over 100,000 Analog parameters, 400 Breaker controls, over 50,000 Digital Alarms. The data acquisition & control is through 400 nos of Intelligent Electronic devices (IED's), linked by 13 Remote terminal units, to Central computer system, in Hot Stand by mode. The software is based on QNX 4.24 & Photon GUI. The communication system consists of 2.4 GHz TDMA systems with 22 Remote Radio Terminals with Data rates of 19.2KBd & 64KBd from M/s. NEC, Japan and is expected to be commissioned by August 2000.
SETO has started its foray into export market by providing transducers for a Dubai Project of M/s. Landis & Staefa, Dubai and lighting control interface to M/s.Johnson Controls (S) Pte Ltd, Singapore for Building Automation. SETO is actively pursuing for Design / Development & Software projects in Industrial Automation and SCADA by tying up with Industrial Automation Project organisations in Netherlands.
